Celebrations
The T-Nite result day later transformed into a celebration day..or rather a celebration night. We all decided that we will meet up after dinner to go on a victory lap all around the campus.
We gathered old tin cans that had so far survived our beatings over the past 4 nights and I caught hold of a whistle too. All armed, we assembled near the mess. And from there started our victory march. “Section A ka naara hai….T-Nite hamara hai” We went to each dorm, shouting this and our other tempo shouts, beating the tin cans further and blowing the whistle at the top of our lungs !!
The idea being very clear….to make as much noise as possible and let the entire wimwi know that sec-A was on a victory round J It’s a tradition at this place to sunk people with water when they come to your dorm and it was practiced to the fullest when we reached every dorm during our march. And as it is it had started raining. So there we were, shouting slogans and beating drums and simultaneously getting wet under the buckets of water and the rain gods at the same time. It was nearly a 2 hour celebration, whereby we touched every dorm at wimwi and the enthu never waned. An awesome celebration, a very well earned and deserved as well, I must say.
The T-Nite were much more than a cultural fest. It was much more than an inter-section competition. It was much more than the noise, the rivalry, the talent, the sleepless nights, the tension, the fun and in the end the victory. T-Nite made us bond, united us as one, gave us new friends, some of whom will remain so throughout our lives. T-Nite taught us life at IIM-A is much more beyond academics, it taught us that all those scholars are capable of letting their hair loose and dancing at 3 in the night to wild music, it taught us that whats most important is not the self, but the class and it in a way redefined our future stay at wimwi.
Post T-Nite, we all seem to get much more comfortable and set in our daily routine. The load was still the same, but out attitudes towards handling the same changed I guess. We were much more relaxed and positive and started enjoying the stress and load. It no longer seemed to be a pain and it felt like we have finally arrived at wimwi. The classes were much more fun and so were the frequent parties we had.
The post mid term period passed in a flash. Towards the end things got super hectic. We had loads of assignments, projects and quizzes apart from the regular class preparations. The end terms arrived so soon and it felt as if the T-Nites had just ended. As usual I wont go into the details of the exams. In a nut shell, they were tough but interesting and there were mixed emotions about them.
What happened after the exams ?? Coming up shortly….
